Bright field magnifiers
Bright field magnifiers belong to the category of stand magnifiers. They are also called Visolettlupen or reading stones. The magnifiers have a very thick lens, usually made of acrylic or silicate glass. This lens is placed on the reading material, and for reading, the magnifiers are moved over the text. This guided placement on the reading material ensures a steady image and relaxed reading. Bright field magnifiers are especially popular with children. Due to children's high accommodation ability, the use of bright field magnifiers is also ideal for supporting residual vision.
Â
Due to the special shape of the bright field magnifier, the light from the surroundings is concentrated, providing twice the surface brightness of the image compared to the ambient brightness, resulting in exceptionally high image brilliance. Additionally, the image and object planes are almost in one plane, which leads to particularly fatigue-free reading.
Â
The bright field magnifiers are perfectly suited for use in combination with reading or magnifying glasses. When you use the bright field magnifiers close to the eye, magnifications of up to 15 times can be achieved.
