Monoculars

A monocular is a handheld telescope with which you can view objects in the distance as well as nearby. The special feature of a monocular is that you look through it with only one eye, allowing you to keep an eye on the surroundings with the other eye.

Monoculars maintain the mobility of people with visual impairments

With monoculars, you can recognize and observe street signs, house numbers, and other things at greater or medium distances. In addition, monoculars almost always have the ability to focus sharply at close distances under 1 meter. This close focus allows, for example, reading price tags behind shop windows, menus, and timetables.

With the help of the close focus, the telescope becomes a telescope magnifier. You simply turn the monocular around to use it as a magnifier and turn or extend the tube far out. Most monoculars are telescopes with one positive lens each for the eyepiece and the objective (Kepler telescope) and an image-inverting prism.

Monoculars can achieve 2- to 10-fold magnifications. However, the higher the magnification, the smaller the visible field becomes. The magnification specification 6x16 means sixfold magnification and an objective lens of 16mm.

Monoculars can be used as a magnifying glass with an acrylic glass stand with an attachment magnifier, which is screwed or clamped onto the objective lens, or as a handheld microscope.

Monoculars are comfortable to use thanks to a finger ring or wrist strap and can also be used on the go.

In our range, we offer you high-quality monoculars from ZEISS, SCHWEIZER and ESCHENBACH.
